Produced from coconut shells, its obtained from the low oxygen, controlled burning of the material with a temperature of 800 to 1000 ºC, resulting in a carbon material with high porosity e large internal surface area. The granules acquire the necessary hardness to avoid excessive loss due to friction.
Since it has an absolutely neutral chemical structure, Activated Carbon does not interfere directly in the water properties (Alkalinity, hardness, pH), possessing excellent characteristics in the filtering, deodorization and toxic and radioactive removal fields.
The Pulverized Activated Carbon possesses a large surface area and well distributed pore structure, having predominantly medium and macro pores .
APPLICATIONS
It can be used in continuous or discontinuous processes, having the advantage of use in different dosages, usually in pre-treatment of water for the industries of food, beverages and pharmaceutical, as well as in reverse osmosis. It can also be used directly in the filters, forming a clarification pre-layer, or event mixed with the liquid being treated, being removed by filtration or sedimentation after certain period of contact.
Also used in liquid stage, indicated for use in batch processes and in cases where various dosages are required, when there are operational issues in using columns, or regeneration is not possible.
The use of pulverized activated carbon is also very common in municipal water treatment systems, in various dosages, where it adsorbs undesirable compounds.
Material is supplied palletized in 10kg bags or 1.000kg big bags.
